Craft Spirits, Mediterranean Soul, Raleigh Made

A distillery, cocktail bar, and Mediterranean kitchen rolled into one stunning Seaboard Station destination.

About Us

The moment you step through the door at Boatman Spirits Co., the room does the talking. Guests arriving for the first time routinely stop mid-sentence, caught off guard by an interior that layers warm candlelight, rich textures, and a bar program built around spirits distilled right on the premises. The 4.4-star rating across more than 100 reviews is not an accident. It reflects a place that takes both the craft and the hospitality seriously.

The food menu draws its backbone from the Mediterranean, and the fried halloumi has earned a reputation of its own. Salty, golden, and squeaky in all the right ways, it has pulled more than a few passersby off the sidewalk and through the front door. The kitchen keeps things seasonal and sharply executed, pairing beautifully with cocktails that showcase Boatman's house-distilled lineup.

Located at 713 Seaboard Station Dr in Raleigh's lively Seaboard Station neighborhood, parking is straightforward thanks to the adjacent deck, and the restaurant validates your ticket before you leave. Reservations are recommended, especially Thursday through Saturday, when the dining room fills up fast.

What We Offer

Boatman Spirits Co. operates on three distinct but complementary levels. As a craft distillery, the team produces small-batch spirits in-house, meaning every cocktail on the menu starts with something made right here in Raleigh rather than pulled from a generic well.

The cocktail bar program puts those house spirits to work in a rotating lineup of original drinks, each one built to complement the Mediterranean kitchen. Whether you settle in at the bar or take a table in the dining room, the cocktail list reads like a menu in its own right, with enough depth to reward repeat visits.

The Mediterranean restaurant side rounds out the experience with a menu that leans into bold, ingredient-forward cooking. Halloumi, shareable plates, and seasonally inspired entrees give the kitchen range without losing focus. Private reservations are available for groups looking to make a full evening of it at one of Raleigh's most visually striking dining rooms.

"My husband and I came here for the first time and had a reservation for a Thursday night. Upon walking in, we were amazed by the ambiance and how beautiful the interior of the restaurant was! It definitely is a nice spot to come for a date night. We ordered some marinated olives to start off with (not pictured). We came on Thursday night and they have $10 cocktails. I ordered the lamb kofta burger. It was $17 and although it tasted great, I kind of wished for the price, that it came with a side. My husband ordered the shawarma platter and that was $20. Overall, it was good but the rice was a little dry. Our waiter was nice but we had to flag him down to refill our waters."

"This is such a cool restaurant! I haven't been to this area before, but there are so many places I need to try! I parked in the deck and got my ticket validated at the restaurant before leaving. There is some street parking, but the $2 for the deck was worth it. I came here with some friends for Galentine's day, and we had a reservation at 7 pm. They only brought water once you had been seated, so it took some time for some of us to get water after arriving even though two people had been seated at our table. Our waiter was not the most attentive and very soft spoken. It wasn't super loud in the restaurant, but staff should speak up. I got an old fashioned with a slight twist with chocolate bitters and a marshmallow. We shared the beef tallow fries, which were tasty. For my entree I got the shawarma platter. It was a good amount of food, and I had enough to take some leftovers. The meat was very good. There are a lot of other menu items I'd be interested in trying!"

"Was walking past here on a way to another restaurant and decided to pop in because the fried halloumi stuck with me. The halloumi was delicious. However, the rest of the meal left a lot to be desired. The old-fashioned came after the appetizer, and after the food was delivered to us, served with little ice but enough of it that we physically had to take ice out of the cup in order to be able to drink the old-fashioned. Again, The halloumi was still delicious, the Shawarma platter was dry, and sadly there was an entire long hair in our food. With early Friday service I really expected more; to be out of things already seems a bit like poor planning."

"Super delicious food and drinks. Everything was a 10/10. Highly recommend the Hades. We had multiple of their unique cocktails and even some off menu they whipped up for us. If you enjoy talking about aliens and conspiracies ask for bartender Mike. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Beef Tallow fries were delicious and steak was super tender and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area."

"Boatman Spirit—what can I even say? This place exceeded every expectation. From the stunning architecture to the top-tier service, incredible food, craft drinks, atmosphere, and DJ… it was perfection. We came for a girls’ lunch and loved every single second. We ordered the frittata, breakfast burger, and brunch hash, and every dish absolutely blew us away. And let me be very clear, the hospitality here is exceptional. Also: everyone NEEDS to try the coquito. Hands down the best coquito I’ve ever made… and yes, they sell it by the bottle. Run, don’t walk."
